CAREER PATHS
Each of these jobs is real. Many are reachable in your first few years out of school — if you know where to look, how to prepare, and who to ask.
MARKETING & SPONSORSHIP CAREERS (BRAND & TEAM)
BRAND MANAGER (CORPORATE SIDE)
Works at a company that sponsors teams, leagues, or athletes (like Nike or Gatorade). You’ll help decide which partnerships make sense and how to use them to grow the brand.
SPONSORSHIP ACTIVATION COORDINATOR (TEAM SIDE)
Helps turn a brand’s sponsorship into real experiences — think signage, contests, giveaways, and in-game moments. You’re the one making sure the brand’s partnership comes alive for fans in the stadium and online.
PARTNERSHIP SALES ASSOCIATE (TEAM SIDE)
Focuses on selling sponsorship opportunities — stadium signage, jersey patches, naming rights — to companies that want to connect with fans. This role blends relationship-building and creative thinking.
GAME DAY, STADIUM & EVENT OPERATIONS
CONCESSIONS MANAGER (STADIUM VENDOR SIDE)
Oversees food and beverage operations inside stadiums. You’ll manage vendors, staff, and inventory to keep fans fed — and revenue flowing.
GAME DAY OPERATIONS ASSISTANT
You’re part of the team that makes sure everything runs smoothly on game day — from pre-game setup to coordinating staff, signage, and emergency protocols. If you love high-energy environments, this is a great start.
MERCHANDISE & RETAIL COORDINATOR
Helps design, order, and sell team gear both online and in-stadium. Great role for someone who loves sports, fashion, or branding — and wants to learn how retail works in the live event space.
FINANCE & BUSINESS OPERATIONS
REVENUE STRATEGY ASSOCIATE (FRANCHISE OR BRAND)
Looks at ways to maximize business performance — from pricing tickets to bundling media rights. You’ll work closely with sales, marketing, and finance teams to drive revenue.
FINANCIAL ANALYST (TEAM OR LEAGUE OFFICE)
Tracks budgets, forecasts revenues, and analyzes data to help teams make smarter financial decisions. You could be building models on ticket sales, salary caps, or sponsorship revenue.
CAP & CONTRACT ANALYST (TEAM SIDE – BASKETBALL/BASEBALL/FOOTBALL)
In leagues with salary caps, you’ll help manage player contracts, team payroll, and compliance. It’s part math nerd, part roster-builder, and totally essential.
MEDIA, CONTENT & COMMUNICATIONS
BROADCAST OPERATIONS ASSISTANT (NETWORK OR LEAGUE SIDE)
Supports the technical side of game coverage — from setting up camera feeds to ensuring smooth broadcast delivery. Great path if you’re into production and live sports.
SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR (TEAM OR LEAGUE SIDE)
Creates real-time content on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and X. You’ll live where the fans are — posting highlights, behind-the-scenes moments, and trends that make the team more human and viral.
PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSOCIATE (TEAM OR ATHLETE REP)
Manages the team’s or player’s public image, writes press releases, and coordinates with media outlets. A great role for strong communicators who can stay calm under pressure.
LEGAL, COMPLIANCE & PLAYER REPRESENTATION
PLAYER AGENT ASSISTANT
Works at a sports agency, helping agents manage athlete schedules, sponsorships, and contracts. It’s fast-paced and relationship-driven — great for aspiring agents or sports lawyers.
LEGAL AFFAIRS COORDINATOR (LEAGUE OR AGENCY SIDE)
Supports attorneys on contracts, licensing, labor rules, and intellectual property. You might help review sponsorship agreements or ensure the league is following collective bargaining rules.
COMPLIANCE OFFICER (COLLEGE ATHLETICS OR LEAGUE SIDE)
Ensures that rules are followed — from NCAA recruiting policies to league conduct codes. Ideal for detail-oriented professionals who want to protect the integrity of the game.
DATA & ANALYTICS
FAN ENGAGEMENT ANALYST
Focuses on how fans interact with the team — online, in the stadium, and everywhere in between. You’ll track loyalty programs, digital campaigns, and CRM strategies to make fans feel closer to the brand.
BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST (TEAM OR BRAND SIDE)
Turns raw data — ticket sales, social media stats, merchandise numbers — into insights that drive decisions. You’ll help execs understand what’s working and where to grow.
SPORTS PERFORMANCE ANALYST (TEAM OR TRAINING STAFF)
Collects and interprets player performance data — from biometrics to film breakdowns. It’s a hybrid of data science and coaching, and it’s reshaping how teams train and compete.
